David Cohen currently serves as the Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis.
A Boston native, David brings to St. Louis over twenty-five years of experience as a community relations professional and educational leader.
He joined JCRC in March of 2025 - and according to Board Chair David Rosenstock:
“David is a skilled communicator who thrives on bringing Jews and non-Jews together to find common ground. His extensive experience as a leader in the Jewish communal space as well as his strong commitment to Israel and fighting antisemitism combine to make him the right person to lead our JCRC at this critical moment in time.”
David’s previous roles have been in Jewish federations, JCRCs, synagogues and with the Anti-Defamation League of Boston. Most recently, David served as President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg and prior to that he served as Senior Director of Community Affairs for the JCRC of Greater Boston and as JCRC Director in Richmond, Virginia.
In all of these roles, David has emphasized the importance of cultivating community relationships, the value of Holocaust education, and the centrality of Israel education to building strong Jewish identity and vibrant Jewish community here in North America.
David received his Bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University, a Masters degree in political history from Boston University, and a Masters in Jewish Education and Organizational Leadership from Hebrew Union College.
